Specie molto comune che è possibile incontrare in tutti i mesi dell'anno, in ambiente coralligeno, sciafilo, in associazione a molte specie di Idrozoi e molto frequentemente insieme a Flabellina pedata, altra specie di Nudibranco mediamente più piccola e dalla quale se ne differenzia facilmente per via dei rinofori che in F. pedata sono lisci e in F. ischitana, come si vede in foto, sono annulati.

Very common species that can be encountered in all months of the year, in a coralligenous environment, in association with many species of Hydrozoa and very frequently together with Flabellina pedata, another species of Nudibranch on average smaller and from which it differs easily because of the rhinophores which in F. pedata are smooth and in F. ischitana, as seen in the photo, are canceled
