Sacoglossa Ihering, 1876

Family: Limapontiidae Gray, 1847

Ercolania viridis (Costa, 1866)

We have always found this species in quite small specimens, 3-8 mm, in samples of green and calcareous algae. On the other hand, its chromatic variability is remarkable, especially in the Porto Cesareo (Lecce, Italy) area where the specimens pass from the most common form with rounded green waxes dotted with white to specimens with dark aubergine waxed through all the intermediate shades. Rhinophores also follow this chromatic variability
